Last week’s Dibanisa lesson took place at the Great White House and was presented by the Dyer Island Conservation Trust.

We started our visit off by taking a walk down to the harbour, where the boys could have a look at the whale and shark boats.

We went back to the Great White House, where the boys were treated to cold drink and a hot dog.

Ollie told the boys more about the ocean. He explained the difference between marine and terrestrial.

He also told the boys about the Benguela and Agulhas currents and what influence they have on the local waters. He told the boys more about each member of the Marine Big 5 – sharks, whales, dolphins, penguins and cape fur seals.

The boys had to imitate the sounds made by each animal and a boy was chosen to represent each animal.

He ended off the lesson by telling the boys that it is up to them to make a difference!

The boys completed a quiz for prizes, testing what they had learnt during the lesson.

They also had a colouring competition. The winner of the colouring in competition also received a prize!

Once again, we want to thank the Dyer Island Conservation for their hospitality!

A big thank you also goes to our Football Foundation volunteers who assisted the children with their quiz!
