The beginning of 2011 started very well for Green Futures. All of the students are positive and are looking forward to a great year. In Collin's words: ”I like to see myself having the experience of this work and know more about plants. I will like to achieve my dreams……….. “ We are also very privileged to have a volunteer working with us – Christine Reichardt a tour operator from Switzerland. It is really a good start to the year 2011 We look forward to a wonderful year ahead with many new experiences and challenges! We wish our class of 2011 all the best! Susan, Sharlene and Viola

Something new for the Foundation – Cultural experience and spaza shop at Grootbos

One of the 2010 students, Yolisa, came up with the idea of a cultural experience at Grootbos for the guests after she returned from The Eden Project in Cornwall, UK.

The idea was brainstormed by management of Grootbos and accepted. The location was established and the area was cleaned. Joan, our in-house landscaper, is working on a layout. A real, traditional spazashop will be part of the experience. Yolisa will sell traditional gifts to Guests and some Growing the Futures produce (veggies, fruit, egss, honey) and food to the staff of Grootbos.

Look out for these products of the spazashop!
