Green Futures welcomes new faces for 2013

Meet our new Green Futures Students!

On behalf of the Green Futures College we would like to welcome our Class of 2013! We wish you the best of luck!

Luyanda Mbuzeni

I’m Luyanda Mbuzeni from the Eastern Cape. I live in Masakhane, Gansbaai. I am 24 years old. I’m here for job opportunities and working.

I would like to learn about plants. I am interested in working in the garden because everything must be planted in the soil. I like to learn to gain more information and experience. I would like to work in agriculture one day. I’m excited to learn more about plants at Green Futures. One day, I would like to work at Green Futures.

Thulisile Magwala

My name is Thulisile Austen Magwala and I am 28 years old. I come from the Eastern Cape. I grew up in Durban. I like to work hard, watch TV and play soccer. I also want to learn about Agriculture. When I am done, I would like to get a job. I have experience in plumbing and care about my job. When I am finished, I want to learn more.

Thulani Ngqongqo

My name is Thulani Ngqongqo and I am from Masakhane, Gansbaai. I come from Lady Frere. I play soccer for the U-19 Foundation soccer team. I live with my mother and two brothers. I left school in 2011 because I was too old for that class and I wanted to learn about computers and growing plants. I really appreciate Green Futures. My dream is to become a professional soccer player.

Siyamthanda Baleni

My name is Siyamthanda Baleni. I am 22 years old and come from East London in the Eastern Cape. I did my primary and secondary schooling there. I also did Information Technology and Computer Science at the Buffalo City FET college which I finished last year.

My goal is to succeed and have the key to education and learn more things and if there is enough money I would like to study further because there is no future without education.

The reason I took the chance to come to Green Futures is because I want to learn and know more and experience because in life there are some challenges, so I would like to take the risk and that challenge.

Noluthando Nkonzo

My name is Noluthando Nkonzo. I was born in Hermanus and grew up in Masakhane, Gansbaai. I am living with both my parents and two brothers. I went to school in Zwelihle, Hermanus until Grade 7. For my higher grades, I went to Qhanyiya Senior Secondary School in Hermanus until Grade 11.

I have chosen Green Futures College to experience and learn more about agriculture and life skills. I have learned about plants but not everything so that is why I have decided to choose this college. I know they will teach me more about life skills because at school I dropped out earlier, I will work hard when it is time to study.

I would like to learn both the practical and theory. I am excited to be here today because I would like to learn to have my own garden one day. At the end of the year, I would like to be a tour guide.

Vumile Mathengisa

I am Vumile Mathengisa. I come from the Eastern Cape. I was in Grade 12 last year, but didn’t pass very well. I came to Gansbaai in order to get more learning and training.

I am interested in learning about plants because plants are very important in our life. I want to get more skills to know how to keep nature beautiful and green. I want to know how to have some big projects so that I can get more money by selling plants.

I also want to keep South Africa beautiful and green. I want South Africa to get more tourism so that the economy will grow. I can be very glad that I have been chosen because I want to get more experience about plants.

Xolile Mcotheli

My name is Xolile Mcotheli and I am from Port St. Johns in the Eastern Cape. I live in Masakhane with my sister.

I’m happy here at Green Futures. Now I’m here to learn how to work in the garden. I want to get more experience to work in the garden and how to grow plants.

Loyisa Charly Nqoboko

My name is Loyisa Charly Nqoboko. I come from King Williams Town in the Eastern Cape. I like nature, listening to music and playing soccer and cricket. In my spare time, I used to plant my garden, clean my yard, watch nature and to talk with other people. I came to Green futures to study and to learn how to take care of plants. I would like to one day teach and have more knowledge about plants and animals.
