Donation received from EFG Engineers

On the 25th of February, the Grootbos Foundation received two very special visitors.  Theo la Grange from EFG Engineers and Eben Brink from the BEE Compliance Centre came to hand over two cheques to the Foundation.

EFG's donation helped July Dingani, who is responsible for alien clearing and maintaining paths on Grootbos, to pay off his vehicle.  The money was also used to give July's bakkie a major service.

One checque was in support of Green Futures, which will go a long way in support of the work done by the Foundation and Green Futures. The other cheques is in support of Yolisa Gaqela, who is inititiating the 'Cultural Experience at Grootbos'.  Yolisa will be running a spaza shop on Grootbos, which will sell lunch box items for staff as well as homemade products such as soap and candles which make use of our fynbos and dresses, to name but a few.

In order to make Yolisa's dream a reality we are in need of the following items:

•    Refrigerator

•    Sewing machine & overlocker machine

•    Metal table

•    2x 1 glass jar

•    3 set of pots

•    Fabric material

•    Hard paper material

•    Perfume oil

•    Fabric paint

•    Plastic film

•    Glycerine

If you are able to help Yolisa with any of the above items, please contact us at foundation@grootbos.co.za or 028 384 8048. The shop will also be open to the public and we will let you know when we ready!
