High Nutrient Water from Chicken Coop

Posted under Eco-Tourism Blog by Grootbos on 22nd November 2012

After heavy rains, the soil in the chicken coop becomes saturated. The water that accumulates is full of nutrients that could be used in the garden.

The students devised a plan to catch this high nutrient water for them to use in their gardens as well as to relieve the chickens of walking in this water.

A trench was dug with small tributaries draining the coop into a container on the outside where it is more accessible.
