Milkwood Trees are indigenous to the area around Grootbos and can grow up to 1000 years; a walk through the forest and you can feel the ancient wisdom. Through Future Trees guests can plant a Milkwood Tree to create a greener future.

1st Dibanisa group for 2012 has kicked off!

We started our programme at Green Futures, where Christoff (one of Grootbos%u2019s guides) did the introductory lesson. Christoff told the kids about the two main ecosystems in and around Gansbaai, i.e. marine and fynbos, and showed the kids flowers from the Fynbos and shells from the sea.

Congratulations to all our Green Futures and Growing the Future students who have finished their course! We had a small ceremony in which each of them received a certificate in recognition of what they have learnt over the past year! We wish each and everyone the of best of luck.

Green Futures contributes to the Sports Centre garden

During the past week, the Green Futures staff and students planted up an area in front of the entrance of the Gansbaai Sports Centre as part of our agreement with the Absa Foundation!
