Happy Birthday Madiba!

We celbrated Madiba's 94th birthday by giving back to our communities, as Nelson Mandela did for his country by spending 67 years of his life fighting for social justice and a free, democratic South Africa. People around the world are encouraged to spend at least 67 minutes doing something positive for their communities in honour of Nelson Mandela.

Growing the Future visits Babylonstoren

Thanks to Constance-Marie and Constance for spending the whole day with us, Liesl who made sure to tell us that we would always be welcome to return, Gundula for exchanging ideas with Johan and Simoné for showing us around the property!

Bee Harvesting

At Grootbos Private Nature Reserve, even the birds and the bees are (literally!) bright-eyed and bushy-tailed - having a choice selection of more than 800 succulent fynbos flower species to feed on. During the winter months, the hills and dales at Grootbos come alive with bursts of pink Erica irregularis, an endangered flowering fynbos species exclusive to the Grootbos Reserve and a small area towards Stanford.

Growing the Future have produced a video for %u201CProject Inspire: 5 Minutes to Change the World%u201D. %u201CProject Inspire%u201D presents 18 %u2013 35 year olds with a five minute platform to pitch their inspired idea to the world and win a US$25 000 grant.

Growing The Future's Organic Potatoes

Growing the Future has been doing so well in planting potatoes this year. It was a little bit difficult last year because of the drought.
