We are very proud to announce that Grootbos and the Foundation has been shortlisted as one of the Mail & Guardian's Greening the Future: Investing in the Environment awards for 2011! We entered the 'Schools & Institutions' category on the basis of the contribution that the Green Futures and Growing the Future projects make to the people and environment of the Walker Bay area. We are very pleased at the nomination we have received!

The ABSA 'Spaces for Sport' project in Gansbaai was the proud recipient of the Mail & Guardian Investing in the Future Award for 2010. The award was based on the successful partnership of the stakeholders in making the Gansbaai Communal Sports Centre a success. ABSA 'Spaces for Sport', the Overstrand Municipality, the Grootbos Foundation, the Football Foundation of South Africa, Department of Cultural Affairs and Sport and the Barclays Premier League all had a contribution to make to the success of the project.

The final announcement will be made at an awards ceremony on Thursday 23 June at Summer Place in Hyde Park, Johannesburg! A special Mail & Guardian supplement will be published on Friday, 24 June 2011, showcasing the shortlisted finalists!

We will be very proud to follow in their footsteps!
