GANSBAAI, 20 SEPTEMBER 2011: The campaign “My Mission” initiated by South African Tourism in the UK is centred around four personalities experiencing a 7 day itinerary in South Africa. Each personality will be chosen to target a specific segment and interest of target audience. The campaign was launched on the 6th July with a month of full page display ads in the main broadsheet papers’ magazines, and online traffic drivers to encourage consumers to visit an online hub hosted on the Guardian. The hub contained full descriptions of the itineraries complete with a competition to win the same itinerary. The lucky winners are joining the celebrities for one day of the itinerary.

Grootbos Private Nature Reserve is proud to be a host during one of the celebrities’ trip through South Africa and welcomes Monty Don as their guest for three nights. Monty Don was chosen to promote an up-market floral and cultural experience in South Africa. He has mainly been chosen because of his vast knowledge of horticulture. While at Grootbos Monty will experience our unique fynbos vegetation with more than 760 different flower species, incredible bird life, ancient Milkwood Forests, sandy white beaches, ancient caves and will, of course, get up close with the giants of the Ocean – the Southern Right Whales.

Footage, photographs, blogs, articles and any other material will be collected during Monty’s stay at Grootbos for use in the promotions that will take place in October and January/February.
