The only thing better than a breathtaking location is experiencing it while enjoying world-class food and wine. The world of Grootbos Villas is wild and remote, but its culinary offerings are a match for the finest dining on the globe. Your stay includes a private chef, and a wine steward to offer you the perfect accompaniment for every meal.
At Grootbos we grow our own herbs and micro herbs, use eggs and pork reared on our land, and even produce our own honey. It’s all nourished by the crystal-clear mountain spring that supplies us with water. And what we don’t harvest on site, we source from local producers, in our commitment to support the local economy and reduce our carbon footprint.
Every dish at Grootbos Villas is the culmination of memorable adventures. Before the meal is even prepared, you and your family will have the opportunity to forage with the chefs and collect vegetables, herbs and honey. There are other unique food experiences on offer too; like enjoying a local “braai” or “potjie”, a picnic on the beach, or an atmospheric cellar dinner.
Choose from a vast collection of rare and award-winning wines. The family behind Grootbos has been curating this collection for years, and now they look forward to sharing it with you.
The wines themselves are just the beginning of the experience. They only taste better when you enjoy them with a steward during private tastings at renowned local vineyards – especially when they’re paired with food, cheese or dessert.
The Cape Winemaker’s Guild was established in 1982, and today is an association of South Africa’s premier winemakers. Grootbos is proud to have established a relationship with the Guild, enabling us to showcase the best of local winemaking excellence.
We welcome South Africans and invite you to experience Grootbos with our special offer.
