We are passionate about living sustainably and in harmony with nature. We have always been more than just a luxury travel destination, which is why we designed the entire Grootbos experience around a movement we pioneered called Progressive Tourism. For over 20 years the Grootbos Foundation has been passionately involved in conserving critically endangered plant species and the indigenous landscapes of the region, while also focusing on the upliftment and skills development of the surrounding communities. Our progressive tourism movement has been recognised and adopted globally and greatly influenced eco-tourism as we know it.
