Way Way Down South

The beautiful Overberg coastline, situated dramatically at the Southern Tip of Africa, is the meeting point of two great bodies of water: the cool Atlantic Ocean and the warm Indian Ocean.

It may come as no surprise that this epic point of convergence is filled with astounding and magical wonders. Nowhere else in the world can the unique and prolific marine diversity be matched. For starters, Dyer Island in Gansbaai boasts the highest concentration of Great White Sharks in the world! Hundreds of Southern Right Whales migrate to our shore every year to mate and calve and can be seen from just about anywhere along the cliffs and pristine beaches of Walker Bay. Besides these two mighty legends that draw National Geographic film crews and research teams from around the globe, thousands of seals, dolphins, penguins and sea birds also call this place home, not to mention countless other marine species. To engage with and experience the unique marine wildlife of this dramatic destination is an experience unlike any other and possible nowhere else in the world!
