The outside deck has views overlooking Walker Bay Nature Reserve and the expanse of the Atlantic Ocean. At sunset the sky is painted a myriad of passionate colours that can be enjoyed in the serenity of nature. The special includes a romantic turndown and the tone is set with rose petals, candles, sparkling wine and fresh fruit.

Dining at Grootbos is an experience in itself. The five-star restaurant offers gourmet food that is made with organic produce and attains an international influence. There is also the option for destination dining for a romantic twist. Guests can dine in the wine cellar built beneath Red Indigo (restaurant at Forest Lodge) for a private dinner and for a food and wine pairing prepared by our Executive chef. When the weather permits sometimes dinner is presented in the Boma, which is a surreal setting in the heart of an ancient forest. A clearing is set like a five-star restaurant with lanterns hanging from tree branches as you dine beneath the night sky. Take an afternoon trip to the Whale House where you can sit on the balcony, sip sparkling wine and watch Southern right whales frolic beneath you (whales present from July to December). Also included in the honeymoon package is a romantic picnic on an untouched beach.

There is an array of activities for couples to enjoy, from candlelit dinners and eco-adventures to thrilling activities. Become giddy with excitement as you and your partner delve into the Atlantic Ocean to come face to face with a great white shark. Shark cage diving in Gansbaai is offered all year and will prove to be an unforgettable, and slightly different, romantic excursion. The other adventures include a 4x4 flower safari, land-based whale watching, hikes through the reserve, bird-watching and quad biking. Couples can take a romantic horse ride along the unspoiled beach of Walker Bay at sunset. To enjoy supreme relaxation just take a stroll to the Spa on Grootbos for a Full Body Couple Massage.
