Day 1 - Overview
Arrive at Grootbos Nature Reserve and sample a delicious lunch in the restaurant or on our outside deck in the fresh air. After checking in to your suite, join one of our chefs on a Growing the Future tour, visiting our farm and seeing where we source most of our vegetables, honey, chicken and eggs from. In the evening, prepare yourself for an unforgettable culinary experience featuring six flavour-packed courses paired with the best South African wines. Flavours. Tastes. Stories.
Day 2 - Overview
After breakfast, we’ll head off on an adventure to Cape Agulhas, stopping at four wine estates in Elim along the way to taste their wines. We’ll then have a relaxed picnic lunch at the southernmost tip of Africa as you soak up the natural beauty around you. Afterwards, head back to the lodge where you will freshen up and get ready for a special dinner in our wine cellar, or enjoy a food & wine pairing designed exclusively for you. Flavours. Tastes. Day 3 - Overview
After breakfast, board our 4x4 vehicle for a reserve tour introducing you to the wondrous wildflowers and creatures of the fynbos kingdom. Breathe in the honey scent of the blossoms, gaze at the dramatic views and learn fascinating facts that will amaze you. Afterwards, join our sommelier on a tour of the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, visiting three wine estates that are famous for their Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs. At one of the estates we’ll arrange a superb food and wine pairing for lunch – but make sure you leave space for another six-course dinner later that same day! Flavours. Tastes. Stories.
Day 4 - Overview
End off your stay by joining a guide for an early morning walk through the magical Milkwood forest as you listen to birdsong and breathe in the fresh morning air. After breakfast, depart Grootbos with new experiences, flavours and stories under your belt. Flavours. Tastes. Stories.
